5. Something the Orchestra as a whole needs to work on.
6. Something that the Orchestra as a whole is really good at this year.

On the back:
Write: SOLO if you want a solo to work on this year to improve your playing skills
Write: PRIVATE TEACHER if you have a private teacher
Write: ENSEMBLE if you want to work on a small ensemble this year.

Orchestra Fieldtrip

The Wausau East and West Orchestras will attend a performance by Wust el Balad, a popular music ensemble from Egypt, on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11:10 a.m.

East students will be involved during their regular class period and may be released 10 minutes late to lunch.

West students will travel by bus to East at 10:40 on Wednesday. They will return to West by 12:30 p.m. and have 30 minutes to eat lunch prior to returning to their normal class schedule at 1 p.m.

All students should prepare three questions to ask Wust el Balad prior to the fieldtrip. Students may wish to check out the groups website at www.wustelbalad.com

Any parents or guardians interested in attending this performance are welcome. Please let Mrs. Hornby know you will be attending by Tuesday, September 20, 2011 so the office staff at Wausau East will be alerted to your attendance.

Orchestra Notes:

YOUR FIRST CONCERT IS MONDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the WAUSAU EAST HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM. Please mark your calendars!

We will be wrapping up our first fundraiser this week. Your Dutch Mill Bulbs flyer and money for orders taken is due during class on Monday, September 19, 2011.

Make sure that you are bringing your pencils to class every day! You should probably stash an extra pencil or two in your orchestra folder.

iPad Composition Project - FUSION - Coming to your Orchestra classroom soon! You will need earbuds or headphones in class every day for our project. If you need some and cannot afford them, please contact Mrs. Hornby ASAP!
